At Nexia Health Care, our Allied Health Hub unites a dedicated team of psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists who work collaboratively to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. This informs a personalised care plan tailored to your child and family.

Our Allied Health Therapists provide individual sessions, and guide our Allied Health Assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality support across all settings. Allied Health Assistants extend this care through community visits and follow-up sessions, helping to embed strategies into everyday life.

Discovery Call

A 15-minute call with our Operations Team: 

  • Listen to your concerns and goals for your child
  • Talk about the services we offer 
  • Check any NDIS funding you may have and how it works with our services
  • Explain how to get started and what enrolment involves

Appointment Preparation

Our Operations Team will contact you to ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed before your first appointment.

Initial Assessment

A comprehensive in-person or telehealth assessment by our expert Allied Health Practitioners, tailored to your child’s specific needs:

Occupational Therapy: assessment of motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation.

Speech Pathology: language, communication strategies, social skills.

Psychology: behavioural and developmental evaluation.

Multidisciplinary Team Meeting

Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings bring all your child’s clinicians together to review progress, share insights, and plan next steps. This ensures care is coordinated, consistent, and focused on helping your child reach their goals. Whether your child works with several clinicians or an Allied Health Assistant, the MDT keeps everyone connected and working in the same direction.

Intervention Plan

Development of an individualised intervention plan by our Allied Health Professionals, outlining clear goals and strategies to guide your child’s therapy. This plan helps families understand the focus of each session, track progress, and ensure all supports work together toward meaningful outcomes.

Parental Strategy Sessions

We invite you to a session where we share key insights from the assessments, discuss clear goals and practical strategies you can use at home and in school, and answer any questions you may have so you feel confident about the next steps.

Therapy Begins

Your child will start regular therapy sessions tailored to their needs. Therapy may happen in our clinic, at home, school, or online, and may involve allied health therapists and support assistants working together.

Follow-Up Team Meetings

Ongoing review: Our Allied Health Team review how your child is progressing, update goals, and adjust the plan if needed. You will also have follow-up strategy sessions to stay informed and involved.

Additional Support: Optional Paediatrician Review

If you choose, our in-house paediatrician can review your child’s progress and provide medical insights or referrals.
